Swim Meet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yesterday we WON OUR SWIM MEET AGAINST KENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!! Now I can see why you might be thinking " So they won, so what? No big deal!" But winning a swim meet for Twin Lakes is like BIG because we haven't won a meet for over 3 years, AND Kent swim team hasn't LOST a meet in 15 years, so the pool that never wins beat the pool that always wins 382 to 362!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were planning on just going home because we thought we were going to lose, but here's what happened. ( I'm so sorry I didn't get any pictures, but my camera was dead. :( )
Scene: Twin Lakes Pool. Everyone is really REALLY pumped up, because we want the score and the score has been surprisingly SUPER close the WHOLE time, at one point we were actually TIED. That is SUPER rare for a swim meet. The whole swim team is in their swim suits, hair wet, cold, around the pool, waiting for the score. We had the last race a minute ago, and the staff is calculating the score. I am standing next to two of my fellow swim-mates, Emma and Alex ( 12 and 11 ) , there is music on, and we are all dancing....
Emma: Oh my gosh, the suspense is KILLING me!!!!!
MG- I know, couldn't they just hurry up with the score?
A boy walks through the crowd with an envelope
MG- OMG!!!! Here they come with the score!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(The crowd falls silent, and the score reader opens the envelope with the score. The music ceases. )
Score-reader- We have our score. Kent Swim Team....362...........Twin Lakes Swim Team.......382!!!!!
Everyone jumped in the pool, even the coaches, and they had their clothes on!!!!! Everyone goes CRAZY, because this is BIG news!!!!!! Everyone is screaming and yelling and cheering and is just SO happy, and THEN fireworks go off in the distance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you would NOT believe the faces of the Kent swimmers! They were SHOCKED!!!!!!!! The coaches on that team were literally open-mouthed!!!!!!!!!!!
I swear, it was THE BEST day of my ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for reading,
MG

Mindless Monday
I am feeling- pumped up for our second swim meet tomorrow..woo hoo and go Twin Lakes Penguins! I talked to my coach Jenna about what I would be swimming and she said I was going to do my normal relays, and then 100 IM or 50 butterfly, and then 50 free!
I am wearing- gray sweats, a white tee shirt, and hair is wet because I went running today at the track below my house and I was all sweaty!
Outside my window- Well, it looks like the weather is finally starting to get a bit better, and it was sprinkling earlier, but it is still pretty nice...perfect running weather!
I am - STILL - reading- a MILLION books, have read about 10 books in the past week, and some of them are pretty good. Right now I am reading a book called blubber, and another one called " Here's to you, Rachel Robinson" both by Judy Blume. The latter one is the sequel to the first one ( which I started and finished today) called Just as long as We're Together, which was really good.
I am grateful for - The swim team, a great way to spend the summer. Packed with Fun, exercise, and Fun! Yeah, I know I said fun twice, but seriously, I LOVE it! It is the BEST, probably could not live without it. You might be thinking " What? Is she out of her mind? Getting up at 7:15 every morning in the summer, and going to swim a bajillion laps in an outdoor pool? Spending two nights a week at swim meets, and committing to being on the team? This sounds the LAST thing but fun. " hahaha. Those who are thinking that you are WRONG! :)
I am proud of- -going running today! But it felt better than slouching around at home and reading for 2 hours! And-extra exercise too because there is a GIANT hill that we had to walk down :) and up :( . You may think that's bad, but my sisters brought their bikes, and no-ser-ee were they going to ride their bikes up the hill, so they had to push them up. egh.
- Getting straight A's on my report card except for one thing in social studies which was a B+ and my science teacher said that one of my projects was one of the best he has seen in the 5th grade! woo hoo!
I am listening to- someone taking a shower upstairs, and the sound of my fingers typing away on the keys, and the quiet classical music in the kitchen.
I am praying- that my swim team wins our 2nd meet tomorrow! Also for my Grandma, because she is still recovering from hip-surgery!
In our garden- The strawberry plants are finally coming up, even though they are small they are super sweet!
From the kitchen-this morning Mary Catherine and Arianna wanted frosted flakes cereal for breakfast, but we only had corn flakes, so they poured sugar from the sugar bowl into their cereal bowl! Crazy girls!
One of my favorite things- curling up with a good book in peace and quiet.
A few plans for the week- two home meets for swimming-woo hoo! No long travels
-reading, reading, reading.
-soccer practice on Wednesday
-( maybe, hopefully) a sleepover with one of my BFF.
Thanks for reading, come back next Monday for another one!

Story
I am writing a story! Here is the first chapter, I hope you like it. Comments are appreciated. :)
Chapter One
Hi. My name is Kylee. Kylee Drake, to be exact. I am 11 years old, and live with my mom. Just my mom. I think I may have had a Dad at one point, but for all I know, he is gone. I don't have any siblings, either. Whenever I ask my mom about it, it's like her body shuts down and she won't even talk about it. I remember one time I asked her if I had a Dad. She walked out of the room and I didn't have any dinner. One thing you may want to know about me is that I live in Bellevue, Washington, and my mom works for Microsoft. I am not that great at school, either. I go to Sacred Heart school, and I am ending my 5th grade year here. My mom said it is time for a vacation because the school year is almost over, and we haven't been on any for a few years. The only catch is: If I don't keep my grades up, I don't get to go. And that means my mom will go by herself. And THAT means that I will be spending two weeks of my summer vacation with Mrs. Wegdewood, my annoying neighbor, to babysit me at her house. And all she ever eats is McDonald's. My #1 least favorite food. And that annoying dog of hers, fry or whatever. But luckily, my best friend Elizabeth Hare ( Eliza for short ) is super smart and has agreed to help me study...if I in return help her train for track, which I am thankfully good at. We have been inseperable for as long as I can remember. Her mom is the greatest. Whenever I am at her house, and my mom calls saying she will be getting home late from work, Mrs. Hare always let's me stay for dinner, which is often. My mom is just so absorbed in her work all the time. I really wish I could spend more time with her, which is why I am so excited to go on the vacation this summer...if I do. But I am willing to bet she will be on her phone half the time. Oh well. I guess I will just have to deal. Oh. I just heard her car pull in. I run downstairs and open the door, and see my mom, with papers in her hand and her blue tooth right on her ear. " Okay. Yes. Alright, thank you very much, I'll see you tomorrow. What? No, I couldn't. Really? How interesting. Uh huh. Okay, okay. Goodbye. " Then she hangs up. With an exasperated voice she says, " Oh, hi Ky. ( My nickname )How was school today? " I reply " Fine. And yes, I did finish my homework. You don't have to worry. And guess what?!" " Sweetheart, I had a very hard day at work today ", she interrupts. " I don't have time for that right now, I am going to my room to finish a paper, and I will give you a kiss goodnight in a minute. " Then she walks away, and I hear a door shut. See what I mean? Yeah. I know. But I'm used to it, so I don't mind to much. I am really looking forward to the weekend. You might be wondering why I already did my homework on a Friday night. Well, I guess I'm just one of those people. I go to my room, and I guess I fell asleep before my mom gave me a kiss goodnight. When I wake up in the morning she is gone for work, so I make myself a bowl of cereal. Corn flakes. My favorite.

Baseball time!....and other activities
John Luke and Mary Catherine, as well as their other siblings, have been playing baseball ALL day long! They have been playing in the backyard, and give a cheer when they make a hit! Of course, everyone else does too, and then they prepare for their next round of baseball...hoping that they will hit some! It is SO hot here today( maybe not to you east coast/wherever it is warm often people) and we have also been riding our bikes...my mom and Anne Marie went bike riding and running earlier, and I went jogging. So it has been a pretty time filling day, and tonight we are going to mass! I may have pictures...not sure. :)

Swim Meet-first one!
We had our first swimming meet last night against the Olympic View Maddogs! We lost sadly, 372 to 348, but I have a feeling it's going to be better next time! I swam in the 200 medley relay, where I swam at the end 50 freestlye. Then I swam 100 IM, which is one lap of butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestlye! I think I got second place or something..not really sure but I dropped 7 seconds! Then I swam 50 breaststroke, and at the end I swam in the 200 freestlye relay! In my groups first relay, we got a really good time, and WE MADE IT TO PRELIMS BECAUSE WE GOT AN SSSL TIME!!! WOO HOO!!!That is a really big deal, if you haven't noticed hahaha. My mom tried to get some pictures, and the ones of me were really bad( I think ) but I will still put some up..and a bunch of my friends and sisters!
Me and one of my BFF's Carolyn Hare...she is an AMAZING swimmer!

Funny Friday
Here is this week's Funny Story!
So you probably heard about the ballet/dance I went to a few days ago? Well if not, check it out( find it in the sidebar archive. Well, me and my sisters Anne Marie and Mary Catherine were playing with this fan from the zoo. There were various animals on it, and Mary Catherine pointed out a panda. Well, she didn't know pandas were at some zoos, and she said " What is a panda doing on here? I thought they don't live in zoos. " And I replied " Well, they only live in certain zoos, like-" ( Mary Catherine interrupts ) " ooohh!!! Like I know this one! They live in zoos like in Mexico, ( and I'm thinking ' huh? what is she thinking ? ) cuz that's where they are borned! " hahhahaha. :) come back next week for another stomach thrilling( maybe) silly story.

Thursday Thing
Here is This weeks Thursday Thing...............................
Hahaha, these are my socks from Bath and Body Works ( SUPER fuzzy! ) and Annelise decided to put them on....backwards....they work as knee highs for her, not anklets! The backwards one is awesome, with the heel part in front..it's like an extra polka-dot. :P

Ballet
Last night was the parent/kid meet for Twin Lakes, you don't have to go, and I actually had plans to, but at the last moment( I'm talking last moment last moment ) I decided to go to a ballet/hip hop/modern dance recital...it was AWESOME!!!! Some of my cousins were in it, so it was nice to look for them during the performance, and unfortunately you were not allowed to take any pictures, but I did after the recital. :) My cousin Clare was a jellyfish, and Catherine was a dolphin, and I can't remember what Laura was, but their costumes were amazing. My favorite part...SO hard to decide! I LOVED the jellyfish ( espec. the costumes ) and the hip hop dances as well. ARRGGHH it's so hard to decide! Anyways, here's the pics and thanks for visiting!

Outside Fun...Annelise
Okay, okay. I know I've already done a Wordless Wednesday, but I reeeeaaaaaalllly couldn't help it! Annelise looked so cute in the swing, with the sunlight on her, and I mean, every photographer jumps into action at the sight of that, right? Okay, maybe not, but still. It would make a perfect Wordless Wednesday for a million ye so I will put the cute oars...maybe a trillion...okay, I am sticking with 2 weeks. hahaha. Anyways, I took about a bajillion pics of her,nes big...well, ya know the drill. And if you don't, welcome to the blogging club of MG, you will see what I do with my pictures. :) Okay, I have to admit, you may not love the pictures, because I have been going ON and ON about them, and they are starting not to sound so cute......but I sure do! I don't think you already knew that...right? Yeaahh..thought so. :) Well, folks, you have been waiting for them! probably not though! hahaha. Here they are.
Volleyball Camp...and other sports
Today Volleyball Camp started! It was awesome, but what made it even more thrilling was that two of my amazing friends went with me! We got a LOT done, and worked on all the basic skills of volleyball, like passing, serving, setting, spiking, and other cool things as well. I am excited to go to it tomorrow and for the remainder of the week, until Friday, and I really think I will be better at volleyball after this! I also started soccer tonight, ( one of my fave. sports ) and there was only one girl at practice besides me, but my coach, her, and myself got a great amount of exercise, and it was a good work-out, something to start us out for another awesome season in the Fall! Tomorrow is my first swim meet. YAHOO! I am SO pumped, and ready to give it my ALL! I really think Twin Lakes will beat the snot out of some teams this year....finally! When you go to the swim meets, though, you have to be well prepared, and I am not kidding. I have a list, actually, of all the items you have to bring to the swim meets....4 towels ( or more ), extra goggles with regular goggles, swim cap, team swim suit, not to mention a change of clothes, a healthy piece of fruit, some money for dinner, ( for those of you who don't know, swim meets tend to last from 6 to 8:30 or 9, at home meets 10, because we only have 4 lanes, not 6. ( well, I guess you could say that they start at 5,( warm up ) )

Outside Fun
OMG! Today is really nice, probably not to people in Los Angeles, Vegas, or DC or Massachusetts, but it sure does count here! We have been playing outside all day, including swimming practice this morning because that is an outside pool, summer ( starts today ) is off to a great start! I have about 200 pictures of all the kids playing outside on my camera-183 to be exact-( thank God for those amazing things ) and they are loading onto the computer right as I type. And some are so cute, or I just want to put on, so instead of taking up my whole blog page with pictures and put you to doom of bored-ness(not a real word but should be) I will put only the REAlly cute ones up and put all the rest together and have them be small! You should be glad. :)
Well, I chose this picture first because myfavorite way to spend a sunny day is sit in the shade and read..barefoot and all with my camera...but it was SO hard to read because I just kept turning my camera on and taking pictures of all the kids playing! hahaha.
Annelise-of course-the center of attention wanted some pics so I snapped a couple...they turned out pretty cute. :)
John Mark took to playing basketball, cheering loudly on every time he made a basket. :) He loved shooting, and dribbling as you can see.
I love this picture because you can see the action, John Mark's jumping in the air, the ball maybe going into the basket...I just love it.
Setting up the pool... :)
Playing in the bubbles!...wait. Bubbles? Yeah. My mom decided that the kids could take a bath....The easiest way to a man's heart is through his food...the easiest way to persuade a kid to take a bath is through bubbles! hahaha.
Bloggin Tip Tuesday
Well, folks, it's Tuesday! Here is today's tip:
Ever heard the expression" Less is more" ? Well, I try to remember that when I put pictures on my blog. And if I really feel the need to put a bunch of pics on, I put them all together and make them small. Try to put on only really good pictures, and save the okay ones for later. Blog readers want to see the BIG highlights, not the little things. Well, I guess I shouldn't say that, because I am not " blog readers", I am just a blog reader. but, in my opinion I like less pictures. :)
Come back in 2 Tuesday's to see another tip!

Volleyball camp!
I am excited for volleyball camp tomorrow, woo hoo!!! Another bonus about that, I am going with two of my good friends! So that should be fun....good exercise and practice for the upcoming season....not really 'upcoming' because it actually starts in February or March...hee hee. I have to wake up tomorrow at 7:25 and get to my friends house by 8:20 and then we'll head off to Bellarmine!

Fathers Day
Hey, so sorry I couldn't go on yesterday or earlier today, we were so busy with Father's Day, and today I had a little mishap with something and I didn't get home till later. :( But we had a blast on Fathers Day, we had really nice brunch, with some of it cooked by the kids, and then we built a giant fort in the playroom, and we did presents afterwards. I have about a BAZILLION pictures,so be prepared for a bunch:) I got my Dad a card, and I got this 10- picture picture frame, and I chose black and white pictures to go in and ordered them from Costco, it is really cool.
