Happy Birthday To Rianna

One of my friends Rianna had a birthday party last night, and it was a sleepover.

I originally did not plan on sleeping over, but i convinced my parents to let me stay, mua-ha-ha(that is an evil slow laugh)

Anyways, we basically saw a movie at the theatre called Beautiful Creatures, which was pretty good. After that we just went back to her house and did a bunch of stuff girls our age do, haha.

I ended up staying up until 5:30, but I could not fall asleep because a couple of the girls in the room I was in would not shut up and I was just like "Go to sleep!" , and they were just like "Ehhh...we're gonna stay up and laugh very very loud and use a flash on our camera to torture you, thank you very much." <<<(They didn't actually say that, in case you didn't catch it ;)  )

Anyways, I took some really great pictures of me and Andrea, so I'll put some of those up, and some from the rest of the party.

Lucky Number 13

That's right. I'm 13. As of two weeks ago. September 28th. Day of my birth, folks. We celebrated by remodeling my room this summer, so I didn't get any presents. From my family. But I did get presents. From my class. Because I had a birthday party! And I took the courage to invite the whole class, because ya know that takes a lot of guts...my class is kinda wild. And it's also small, haha if you go to a regular  middle school or Jr. High your grade is probably 200 kids or something, but mine is only 36 or something. Minus about the 6 kids who didn't come I'm estimating?

Anyways, it was a great birthday, and a great birthday party! We had a scavenger hunt/race at the mall, called the "Amazing Grace Race" ( because of my name) and it was a blast! We got split into random teams of about 5 or 6 kids, and surprisingly, ( or not) my team won! We actually got back to the house a good amount of time before the other teams, woo hoo! :) We won by getting Cold Stone gift cards -  score there! The rules ad things for the scavenger hunt are as follows:

The Amazing Grace Race
Rules:

Stay together as a group AND NO RUNNING

Unless stated differently, a task has to involve all your team members

Points will be added for every successfully completed task: A bonus point can be given for style or creativity

A point will be subtracted for any messes left behind or any craziness during the task

You can do the tasks in any order... AFTER YOU COMPLETE FOUR TASKS, EACH TEAM MEMBER HAS TO TRADE ONE SHOE WITH ANOTHER TEAM MEMBER

Your Referee will take a picture or video of you when/as you complete a task
Hint: think about LOCATION of tasks - you won't have time to go thru the mall more than once - YOU DON'T NEED TO GO PAST MACY'S

You have to stop when the Referee says so... Last one back to the house loses one point.
Ten Tasks in the Amazing Grace Race

1.  Make a pyramid anywhere you want (creativity gets a bonus point)

2. Take a photo of all of you IN a photo booth (not taken BY the photo booth)

3. Take a photo with Sponge Bob, the Cookie Monster and Shrek (hint: Scooby Doo loves THE VAN these guys are IN)

4.  Take a photo holding guns - one gun per team member (You might have to go on TILT to get this one done)

5. Put on a creepy Halloween Mask that you have to find by looking at the right Target! (Hint: it is WAY in the back corner of the store)

6. Take a photo going up an escalator - one team member per step (the Referee doesn't have to stay with the team members)

7.  When you are "In the Zone" or feel like "Champs" you have to let your voices ring by singing the Payphone chorus (The Referee has to get this on video)

8.  Get a free sample of food - one point for each free sample up to the total number of team members

9.  Put on a funny hat --- just to make it CLAIRE(clear, if you didnt catch that)  - each hat has to be different

10. BONUS: Get a Starbuck's cup WITHOUT speaking any words in English (the Ref has to get video proof) - each cup is worth one point

So there ya have it people. Since I didn't have my camera( bad Mary Grace! ) I didn't get any pictures of the scavenger hunt, and since most of the pictures my mom took of the regular party before and after have someone making a stupid face or something, I will only post a couple of pictures! :)

                                                           Boom Box!
                                                                       haha
                                                      The schedule and rules

Haha, Anne Marie wrote" Happy Birthday MG  " all over the car!
                                                 Me and my bestie Andrea!
                                                      Mrs. Gardner's group
                                                            My Dad's group
My group. :)

John Mark's Birthday

My little bro John Mark turned 7 on October 3rd, and we celebrated by getting out of school early and going to Chuck E. Cheese. haha. That was pretty fun, and I spent a lot of the time helping my little sisters Annelise and Lucianna on the kiddie-rides, which was fine by me.

After that we went to the Nordstrom Cafe for dinner, but I wanted to skip the eating and go to BP (the teen section of clothes in Nordstrom) and go look-shopping, he he. :)

For his dessert, we had ice cream cake and ended the day watching The Middle, one of my favorite shows on ABC. :)

Here is a couple of pictures of us with the cake. :)

Sorry about my hair being a disaster...I ran downstairs after I got out of the shower and didn't have a chance to brush it yet. :)

Happy Birthday to Arianna!

Yes indeed. Today my little sister, Arianna, is 8 years old!!!! She is the fourth oldest in our house amoung the kids, and even though she drives me crazy most of the time, I still love her. :) My Mom and Dad this morning set a really cool table for her birthday, extra special because we are going to a wedding today, (I love weddings! ) and won't be able to spend as much time with her celebrating.

A-lways follows directions and rules, even if she wants to break them REALLY badly, she doesn't. Last year at Wild Waves Mary Catherine, Arianna, and Anne Marie went on some water slides. Mary Catherine and Anne Marie went twice-they were only supposed to go once. Guess who didn't follow her older sisters?

R-emembers EVERYTHING. Sometimes we are in the car, and she tells my mom something like "Mom, you said last week that we could go to Menchies if we were good.....we didn't go. We have to go TODAY because you said we could and we DIDN'T." Or she'll say " Mary Grace, remember on Christmas Eve, ( now keep this in mind that this was last week ) you said that if I could carry you on my back across the room, you would give me a dollar. Well, it's time to pay up. "

I-dependent. She will always go into the store if mom asks her, and buy a loaf of bread-with my mom's debit card! She will go on the Timberhawk, or down a giant water slide all by herself, she will be the one who goes outside when there are spiders crawling all over the ground, rain coming down, lightning in the sky, and giants walking all over the place to get the mail..well maybe, with some persuasion. :)

A-lways a help to her mom. She will do anything mom asks, even if she doesn't want to, and will help watch her younger siblings, and will help organize books, and even this year she wrapped her own birthday presents!

N-umbers. She loves figuring out money equations, and adding and subtracting, and figuring out time problems. One time my dad was in the car with various coins, and all of a sudden, Arianna starts adding them up and giving him answers! Another time, she said"There is 60 seconds in a minute, you know, Mary Catherine." And Mary Catherine says, "Nuh uh. There's a hundred. Duh. " and my mom said " Mary Catherine, there is 60 seconds in a minute, not 100. I think you are talking about money. " Mary Catherine was embarrassed. :P

N-otices. She always notices everything, every small tiny detail, and has something to say about it. She can notice that my door is closed when she walks up stairs, and she'll start knocking really hard and saying" Mary Grace? Why is your door closed? I was just walking up here, and your door is NEVER closed. I bet you are wrapping presents for me. I bet you are. Cuz why else would you have your door closed. Come on Mary Grace, I know you're in there. Just tell me. Are you wrapping presents in there? Cuz I have a bunch downstairs, and would LOVE to add to my collection. And you haven't put your present in the pile. Mary GRACE! ANSWER me. I know you are wrapping me presents. Mary GrAAAAAce. I know. You. Are. Wrapping. Me. Presents. Because why else would you're door be closed? Oh, I know. I bet you are doing homework. But on the day after the last day of school? Nope. SEE? You are TOTALLY wrapping me presents. Are you done in there yet?

A-thletic. She does various sports, like swimming and soccer, and my dad says she has the best baseball swing in my house out of all the girls. :) And part of what makes her a good athlete is she is determined!  One time during a swim meet last year, there was a false start, which means that you aren't supposed to go, or it was an accident. Well Shayna, a girl on my swim team, didn't know, and went all the way to the end. Everyone the whole time was like" Oh, NO. This is going to take forever. LITTLE GIRL! STOP SWIMMING!!' Ugh. " So the race was actually a relay, and Arianna was at the other end of the pool, waiting to go. So when Shayna touched the wall, everyone was so happy and thought that now, they could start it all over. But no, Arianna was so focused on getting to the other side that SHE WENT OFF THE WALL AND STARTED SWIMMING TOWARDS THE OTHER END!  You must imagine what the crowd was like THEN. So another girl on the swim team had to jump in and grab her so she would stop swimming. :)

So happy birthday Arianna! Here are the pictures from her party.....

Mary Catherine's Birthday

Happy Late Birthday Mary Catherine! On Wenesday, my little sister turned 9 years old! It was really great because at school for her birthday it happened to be the day we had an assembly.   With the band from the army. So near the end, Anne Marie motioned one of the conductors that wasn't conducting over to her seat, and whispered something in his ear.  And then they played a Happy Birthday song for her! That night we went o Twin Lakes for dinner and sundaes, then we went home and had cake and ice cream, and today she got to go horseback riding. :) Here are the pictures.

It's a mud caked, actually, that she made for herself!
